Mr. Stefano Baronci is the Director General of Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific, an association representing the interests of airports in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Appointed in December 2019 and based in Hong Kong SAR, he is responsible for driving and executing the strategic plan of the association and overseeing a team of 16 professionals at the Regional Office.
Mr. Baronci has over 20 years of analytic and representational experience at national and international levels in the aviation sector, representing both airport and airline industries. He is very familiar with the ACI community, having previously served as the Director of Economics at ACI World in Montreal and Senior Policy Manager at ACI Europe in Brussels. He also served as Secretary General of Assaeroporti, the Italian airport operators association, and Assistant Director and ATM Infrastructure Expert at the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Mr. Baronci, a native of Italy, holds an Executive MBA from Warwick University in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Law degree from La Sapienza University in Rome, Italy. He is married with two children.
Eugene joined Dubai Airports in 2009 and is responsible for leading and developing the company’s aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue portfolio, including Dubai International’s and Dubai World Central’s airport business. In 2019, Dubai International was the busiest airport in the world for international traffic. His portfolio includes property management, concession management, aviation business management, cargo business management, corporate communication, consumer marketing, and CRM. He is a member of Dubai Airports' Executive Board and a Director on the board of Emirates Flight Catering. Eugene has worked in the airport commercial industry for over 25 years, and has previously worked in development and travel-retail management roles for Aer Rianta International, DFS/LVMH, Dufry, and Dubai Duty Free. He has also served as a board member and treasurer of MEADFA.
Stephane started his career in 1993 at Air France where he assumed various commercial roles in Europe and Asia.
From 2003 to 2009, he spent six years in senior management roles at Opodo and Expedia.
In 2010 he started his airport experience as Chief Commercial Officer of Lyon Airports. In 2016 Vinci Airports acquired a majority stake in Lyon airports. Stephane moved in 2018 to Kansai Airports, another airport in the Vinci Airport network, as deputy CCO in charge of Non-Aeronautical revenues. In 2020 he became CCO Non-Aeronautical revenues for Kansai Airports.
Stephane holds a Master from Neoma Business School and a Master in Data and Marketing from Science Po Grenoble.
Murali Varadarajan is Senior Vice President and Head of Operations of Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL).
He is responsible for the Integrated Terminal Operations of T2 & T1 and Corporate Aviation Terminal. He oversees Facility Management & Customer Service divisions for the Airport. His key responsibilities include stake holder management, enhance passenger experience and aid in seamless travel. His present role is to provide strategic guidance and bring in operational efficiency into Terminal & Facility management with an aim to provide the highest quality of passenger service.
Prior to assuming this new role, Murali held several general management and corporate strategic planning positions for 10 years at the GVK Group and over 7 years of rich experience in the field of Airport Planning & Management. He has led the Airport Planning Group at MIAL and provided leadership to their Airside design team.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Master’s in Building Technology and Construction Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai, India & completed his Executive MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
He is a keen sports enthusiast, widely travelled and passionate about empowering underprivileged children and youth with educational support.
